The SWEL offers a range of soil, water, and biological testing for researchers. These research services are available to the public and OSU personnel. See sidebars for testing areas and Sample Submission for a complete list of analyses.
Producing research-quality data through quality control and quality assurance procedures is fundamental to the success and sustainability of SWEL. The overall objective of our quality system is to maintain structure and methods that track and document all steps of data generation from sample receipt to data reporting, as well as directing quality control procedures and limits which will ensure project specific data quality requirements are met. Quality workflow systems are managed through the use of Lock Box Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Quality system documentation includes chain of custody (COC) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Quality control measures include laboratory control samples, duplicates, blanks, calibration verification, and spike samples.
