Very low Pb

Soil Pb is at background levels or only slightly elevated. There are no restrictions to using this soil.

Low Pb

Mulch all bare soil, including walkways.

300-800

Moderate Pb

Mulch all bare soil, including walkways, and only grow fruiting vegetables. Provide children with alternate play areas. See Managing and Treating Lead-Contaminated Soil.

800-2000                              

High Pb

Mulch all bare soil, including walkways, and grow non-food plants. See Managing and Treating Lead-Contaminated Soil.

2000+

Very High Pb

Cover bare soil and contact the Health Department.
